Renault Trafic Key Fob Review
The Trafic's strengths are an remarkablely comfortable and car-like experience, along with a great real-world fuel efficiency. The model that was updated in 2023 comes with a large number of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

Hidden Physical Keys

When the new key fob is added to the system, it will send its serial number and the current synchronization counter to the receiver, who is in a learning mode. The receiver stores this information in memory and then exits learning mode. The key fob then uses the decryption key that was previously saved and the counter for synchronization in order to authenticate the signal when it is used again.
This security measure is effective in preventing majority of attacks however it's not foolproof. This security feature has been hacked by a sophisticated attack called RollJam [17]. The attacker will need to obtain future codes that are generated by the key fob to be successful and once these codes are obtained, they can be used for a replay attack and gain access to the vehicle.
Moving the Car Out of the Spot
Renault Trafic owners love the feature of being able to unlock their hatchback and trunk using the key fob. This is a great feature for those who have lots of things on their hands, such as groceries or party supplies, and don't wish to have to put everything down to open the vehicle.
It is also a good method to prevent theft from occurring in the first instance. A simple press of the panic button will scare off anyone trying to steal your car or break into your house. It will also notify your neighbors. If you feel unsafe on the road pressing the panic button will alert drivers around you.
The key fob can be damaged due to washing or dropping it. Other causes are a defective key programmed or a malfunctioning immobilizer and interference by other wireless devices operating at the same frequency. In the case of a faulty immobilizer module it is recommended that you consult a certified mechanic or Renault dealership to investigate the problem. To reset the module, it might be required to replace the fuse or to remove the battery for 15 minutes.
Sunroof Opener
The Renault traffic key fobs have an open/close sunroof feature. This is vital to ensure the right temperature when driving during summer. This feature lets you open the sunroof while venting the car. This can help with air flow during a hot trip.
The sunroof can be opened and closed by using the console switch located on the driver's side (left-hand drive) of the hatch area. This will open the sunroof until it is in a comfortable position, or around 75 75%. This is the normal operating position in most automobiles. Touch OPEN for full sunroof operation, and CLOSE to close.

Another issue that may stop your sunroof from raising is a bad Limit Switch 2 or one that has been misadjusted. The lifting arms retract to the released position to be removed, but not to the locked-open position. The sunroof cannot be operated on vehicles manufactured after 1985.5. The ignition switch must be set to the ACCESSORY (2) position. The sunroof console switch then pushed back ("A" direction) to open and then pushed forward ("B" direction) to close.
Parking
The Renault Trafic has a lot going for it with a stylish exterior design and some up-to-date features. Cameron from Lindenvel Group - who was driving the vehicle during the 2023 Renault Trafic launch event in Sydney and was pleased to drive, thanks to its responsive steering and a pleasant sense of weight. It was also easy to park even in the tight parking 'gymkhana', which saw yours truly reverse out of a witches hat-shaped 'garage' and then into two more not bad for a van which only has three stars for safety by Euro NCAP.
If you notice a warning light on your dashboard that appears like 2 cars following each other with an exclamation mark it could be because the adaptive cruise control system that is reporting an issue. This system uses cameras and radars to observe the traffic ahead of you and adjust your speed accordingly.
A yellow warning light that appears like a car and has swirls underneath it means that the stability control has kicked in to try and prevent loss of traction. This usually comes with an audio alarm and should only be on for a short period of time before dissolving in order to restore traction. If it remains on longer, you should refer to the manual or seek help from an Renault mechanic or dealer.
